The Management of Health Services of the Health Area of La Gomera has published the resolution with the final lists of accepted and rejected applications from the exceptional ordinary procedure for the professional career of vocational healthcare staff.
The Official Bulletin of the Canary Islands (BOC) number 145, corresponding to Tuesday, July 21, 2026, has published the Resolution of July 1, 2026, by which the final lists of professional career applications for vocational healthcare staff assigned to the Management of Health Services of the Health Area of La Gomera are approved.
This resolution, which complies with Instruction No. 8/2025 from the Director of the Canary Islands Health Service, establishes the exceptional ordinary procedure for the evaluation and classification into the different levels or grades of the professional career. The lists include both accepted and rejected applications, indicating the reasons in each case.
Specifically, three lists have been approved: the first includes applications rejected for not meeting the necessary requirements and conditions for classification in the requested grade; the second, those rejected for not passing the merit evaluation; and the third, the accepted applications, indicating the grade recognized and the excess credits.
Those affected can consult the details of their situation in the PDF file of the resolution, available on the electronic headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands. The publication in the BOC marks the start of the period for submitting appeals.
Against this resolution, which concludes the administrative route, a contentious-administrative appeal can be filed within two months from the day following its publication, before the corresponding contentious-administrative courts, according to the rules of Article 14 of Law 29/1998. Optionally, a request for reconsideration can be submitted to the Directorate of the Canary Islands Health Service within one month, in accordance with Articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015.
If opting for the request for reconsideration, one cannot resort to the contentious-administrative route until it is expressly resolved or deemed rejected by administrative silence. The resolution warns that any other appeal deemed appropriate can also be filed.
This procedure affects vocational healthcare staff working in the Health Area of La Gomera, a group that has been demanding greater agility in professional career processes. The publication of the final lists represents an important step towards job stability and the recognition of the experience and training of these professionals.
The Management of Health Services reminds interested parties to review their situation in the list and, in case of disagreement, to exercise their appeals within the established deadlines. For any questions, it is recommended to contact the personnel services of the health area.
The professional career allows healthcare staff to progress in their job through the recognition of training, experience, and accredited merits, which translates into improved remuneration and professional category. This exceptional ordinary process has been designed to expedite the classification of those professionals who met the requirements but had not been able to access the system through previous routes.
With this resolution, the Canary Islands Health Service fulfills its commitment to regularize the situation of vocational healthcare staff in La Gomera, an area that has a small but essential workforce for healthcare on the island. Professionals whose applications have been accepted will receive the corresponding recognition, while those rejected will be able to know the reasons and, if they consider it, appeal the decision.
