The second edition of the ‘La Gomera, Fashion and Magic’ runway will take place this Saturday, July 25th at 20:00 at Puerto de Vueltas, with free entry. Nearly twenty brands from the island will showcase their proposals, with the participation of Tenerife Moda as the invited entity.

Puerto de Vueltas, in Valle Gran Rey, will become the epicentre of island fashion this Saturday with the second edition of the ‘La Gomera, Fashion and Magic’ runway. The event, which will start at 20:00, will bring together nearly twenty brands and designers from the island, in an event that champions local talent and sustainability.

The runway, measuring 30 metres in length, will be set up in the port area, providing a unique backdrop for the shows. Attendance is free until capacity is reached, so it is recommended to arrive early to secure a spot.

Participation of Tenerife Moda as a guest

One of the new features of this edition is the inclusion of Tenerife Moda as a guest entity. The brand will be represented by Arena Negra Swimwear and by Yusef Perdomo, finalist of the XV edition of the Tenerife Moda Young Designers Contest. Their presence strengthens the ties between the two islands and brings an external perspective to the event.

The public will be able to discover the new collections from Gomera brands such as Ananas Wear, FILST, Puro Pellejo, Zapatita, Sonia Medina Upcycling, My Celium, Alma Libre, Alhaja Art Couture, Matices by Deniz Passoti, Elena Mesa, Cas Cas, Amalgama Viva, Savitri, Aracne, Haridian Padilla, and Sofía Figueredo. A varied showcase that spans from sustainable fashion to author design.

New initiative 'La Gomera, Fashion and Commerce'

Another highlighted new feature is the project ‘La Gomera, Fashion and Commerce’, driven by the Cabildo with the support of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Chamber of Commerce. This initiative will connect participating designers with a dozen establishments on the island, which will distribute and market their creations at points of sale identified with the brand.

The project includes audiovisual promotion and social media outreach to facilitate the location of associated businesses, aiming to strengthen local commerce and boost the local economy. A commitment to zero-kilometre fashion that seeks to promote the creations of Gomera designers beyond the runway.

The organisation is managed by the Cabildo of La Gomera, in collaboration with the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Chamber of Commerce delegation on the island, and with the support of PROEXCA from the Government of the Canary Islands, as part of the ‘Canary Islands Fashion Islands’ strategy. The Valle Gran Rey Town Hall, Canarian Ports, and Fred. Olsen Express also collaborate.

For fashion and design lovers, this event represents a unique opportunity to discover the emerging talent of La Gomera in a privileged setting. And the best part: entry is free. However, those who arrive late will be left wanting, as capacity is limited and forecasts indicate a full house.
