The City Council of Arrecife begins free camps for registered children this Monday, with activities at El Reducto and two sports facilities, until August 14.

The City Council of Arrecife has announced the launch of a summer programme that includes free recreational-sports camps for registered minors in the municipality, as well as a calendar of outdoor activities at El Reducto beach. The initiative, organised by the Sports Department, starts this Monday, July 20, and will run until August 14, aiming to provide leisure alternatives during the school holidays and promote sports practice.

Two venues and morning schedule

The camps will take place in two sports venues in the city: the Titerroy Pavilion, next to the courts at Parque La Paciencia, and the Las Salinas sports facilities, recently renovated. Activities will be held from Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 13:30, and each camp will last for one week.

Participation is free for families registered in Arrecife, until all available spots are filled. Registration is done via a QR code provided by the City Council, allowing parents to reserve spots easily and digitally. Specialized monitors will coordinate sports and leisure activities adapted to different ages.

“This edition continues the experience from last year, when the municipality organised these sports camps for the first time,” said the Sports Councillor, Eli Merino.

Work-life balance and healthy living at El Reducto

The Mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, highlighted that these camps are part of a broader municipal programme for the summer holidays, which also includes activities at the municipality's sociocultural centres. The initiative aims to facilitate work-life balance for Arrecife families, providing a safe and educational space for children during the summer mornings.

In addition to the camps, El Reducto beach will host a calendar of outdoor physical activities for all ages, aiming to promote healthy habits among the community. The City Council has reminded that this year's programme expands the offerings compared to the previous edition, consolidating a commitment to grassroots sports and active leisure.

How to register and deadlines

Interested families must access the QR code available on the official channels of the City Council of Arrecife to formalise registration. Each child can participate in one week of camp, and spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration period is now open and will remain until all available spots at each venue are filled.

For residents of Titerroy and Las Salinas, this offer represents an opportunity for quality leisure at no cost, in nearby sports facilities. The City Council recommends that interested families register as soon as possible, as demand is usually high. With this initiative, Arrecife reinforces its commitment to grassroots sports and work-life balance, providing an active and healthy summer for the little ones.
