The Yaiza Town Hall has published the fiscal calendar for 2026. Residents can pay the Property Tax (IBI) and the Economic Activities Tax (IAE) until September 5 during the voluntary period.

The Yaiza Town Hall has launched the voluntary collection period for the Property Tax (IBI) and the Economic Activities Tax (IAE) for the fiscal year 2026. Taxpayers have until September 5 to make the payment without surcharges.

Fiscal calendar and deadlines

According to the Town Hall, the voluntary period started this Monday. The deadline to pay both taxes without interest is September 5, 2026. From the following day, surcharges and late interest will apply.

The IBI taxes the ownership of urban and rural properties in the municipality. The IAE affects individuals or legal entities engaged in business, professional, or artistic activities in Yaiza. The Town Hall reminds that companies with a turnover of less than one million euros are exempt from the IAE, although they must submit a registration declaration.

How and where to pay

Receipts can be paid through the Virtual Tax Office of the Yaiza Town Hall, accessible from the municipal website. Payments can also be made in person at the collection offices, by appointment, or at the usual collaborating banks.

The Town Hall recommends reviewing tax data before making the payment. If any errors are detected on the receipt, taxpayers should contact the Collection department before the voluntary deadline to avoid subsequent claims.

Consequences of non-payment

Those who do not pay the IBI or IAE before September 5 will enter the executive period. This implies a surcharge of up to 20% of the debt, plus late interest. The Town Hall may initiate the property seizure procedure if the debt is not regularised.

Last year, the Town Hall recorded a 98% compliance rate in the voluntary payment of the IBI, a figure it hopes to maintain in 2026. To facilitate payment, the usual discounts for large families and for official protection properties will remain, provided they have been requested in advance.

Taxpayer assistance

The Collection department of the Yaiza Town Hall has set up a helpline to resolve queries about tax payments. In-person visits to municipal offices are also possible, by appointment, from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 14:00 hours.

The Town Hall reminds that the IBI is the main source of income for the municipality, intended to finance public services such as waste collection, lighting, or road maintenance. Therefore, they emphasise the importance of complying with the fiscal calendar to ensure the provision of these services to all residents.
