The General Directorate of Public Function has set up four institutes in La Laguna and Telde to host the selective tests this Sunday for the General Management body, the largest, with 2,690 admitted for 23 positions.
A total of 3,964 people are called to participate this weekend in the selective tests to fill 88 positions in various bodies of the regional Administration, as reported by the Ministry of Presidency, Public Administrations, Justice and Security through the General Directorate of Public Function.
The call, corresponding to the open turn, is distributed over several days. The most massive test will take place on Sunday for the Management Body, general management scale, with 2,690 admitted competing for 23 positions. Of these, four are reserved for the disability turn, aimed at people with a disability degree of 33% or higher, while the rest corresponds to the general turn.
The exams on Sunday will be held simultaneously at 10:00 hours in four institutes across the island. In Tenerife, the venues will be IES Viera y Clavijo and IES La Laboral, both in La Laguna. In Gran Canaria, candidates will go to IES José Arencibia and IES Profesor Juan Pulido Castro, in Telde.
Saturday's session focuses on the tests for higher technical bodies. In the morning, starting at 10:00 hours, candidates for the tax and financial administration (14 positions), Veterinary (12), Information Technology (9), medical inspection (19), and telecommunications engineering (5) will be examined. In total, 1,121 people will participate in these tests, which will take place at IES Viera y Clavijo in La Laguna and IES José Arencibia in Telde.
In the afternoon of the same Saturday, at 16:00 hours, the call for the intermediate degree body of Information Technology is scheduled, with 6 positions and 153 admitted.
The Ministry of Presidency has organized the logistical device to ensure the tests are conducted under conditions of equality and safety. Candidates must attend with their identity document and the corresponding registration receipt.
This call is part of the stabilization plan and public employment offer of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, which aims to strengthen the staffing of the regional administration after years of restrictions. The offered positions cover a wide range of profiles, from IT technicians to medical inspectors, veterinarians, and tax specialists.
For the residents of the Islands, these exams represent an opportunity to access stable public employment in a context of labour uncertainty. Candidates come from all the islands, although most are concentrated in Tenerife and Gran Canaria, where the exam venues are located.
The General Directorate of Public Function recommends that participants check the exact location of the classrooms in advance and allow enough time for travel, especially for those coming from other islands. The provisional results will be published in the coming months in the Official Bulletin of the Canary Islands and on the electronic headquarters of the Canary Government.
