The Economic and Social Forum has presented to the municipal Corporation the La Laguna Barometer 2025, a study developed with the University of La Laguna that gathers residents' opinions about the municipality.
The Economic and Social Forum of San Cristóbal de La Laguna has conveyed to councillors from all political groups the results of the La Laguna Barometer 2025, a study that for the third consecutive year analyses citizens' perceptions of the reality of the municipality. The document, prepared in collaboration with the University of La Laguna, outlines the main concerns, needs, and improvement proposals expressed by the residents.
During the presentation, representatives of the Forum outlined the conclusions of this work, which has established itself as one of the most relevant initiatives of the citizen participation body. The Barometer serves as an analytical tool that allows understanding residents' opinions on the aspects that most influence their quality of life, providing useful information for planning and public decision-making.
The project, developed jointly by the Economic and Social Forum and the University of La Laguna, has become a benchmark in the field of citizen participation in the Canary Islands. Its continuity over three years demonstrates the commitment of both institutions to actively listen to citizens and continuously improve municipal policies.
The Forum has expressed gratitude for the reception by all municipal political groups during the presentation, as well as the interest shown in understanding the conclusions and evaluating the proposals. This attitude reflects the shared commitment of the Corporation to dialogue and the search for solutions to enhance the well-being of the residents of La Laguna.
The La Laguna Barometer 2025 is now available in digital format on the San Cristóbal de La Laguna City Council website, as well as in printed edition, to facilitate access for residents, entities, researchers, and administrations.
Furthermore, the Economic and Social Forum and the University of La Laguna have been working since the beginning of this year on the preparation of the La Laguna Barometer 2026, with the aim of continuing the project and maintaining an updated snapshot of the social, economic, and civic reality of the municipality.
