The artist MelÖmana leads the musical programme of Orgullo Chiquito LGTBIQ+, which will take place on July 25 in Tazacorte, on the island of La Palma.
On July 25, Tazacorte will once again be the epicentre of diversity in La Palma with the celebration of Orgullo Chiquito LGTBIQ+, an event that this year will feature MelÖmana as the headline act. The artist, who will arrive on the island after participating in the Pride events in Madrid, will headline a musical programme that promises to fill the Avenida de la Constitución with rhythm and advocacy.
A diverse lineup for a day of advocacy
Alongside MelÖmana, the lineup includes Christian Delgado and the sets from La Mirris, DMC Selectora, Elvira, MÄRE, and Magas and Vagueantes. The musical offering ranges from urban and electronic music to techno, tropical rhythms, and vinyl sessions, reflecting the artistic diversity that characterises this celebration.
MelÖmana's presence marks a reunion with an event she has been linked to since its early editions. Her performance is one of the most anticipated of the day, and her career has helped to establish Orgullo Chiquito as one of the main advocacy events on the island.
More than music: defending LGTBIQ+ rights
The president of Violetas LGTBIQ+ La Palma, Besay Viña, emphasises that this celebration is still necessary because many people continue to face discrimination or fear. Every person who participates sends a clear message of support for diversity and reminds us that building a fairer society requires the collective commitment of institutions, entities, and citizens.
The councillor for Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, congratulated the Violetas collective for their daily work and highlighted the involvement of the Tazacorte Town Hall and its residents, who are role models for coexistence, respect, and diversity. She also praised the work of the Cabildo of La Palma with the Second Equality Plan and the Isla Bonita Love Festival.
An event for culture and coexistence
Orgullo Chiquito is promoted by Violetas LGTBIQ+ La Palma and the Cabildo of La Palma, through Sodepal, in collaboration with the Fogalera collective and the Tazacorte Town Hall. The programme will take place on the Avenida de la Constitución, where attendees can enjoy a wide cultural and advocacy offering.
For the residents of La Palma, this event is an opportunity to showcase the island's open and welcoming character. The event not only provides entertainment but also reinforces the visibility of the LGTBIQ+ community in a safe and inclusive environment. Furthermore, the participation of artists like MelÖmana places Tazacorte on the map of Pride celebrations in the Canary Islands.
The day promises to be a success with the public, as in previous editions, and it is expected that residents and visitors will fill the streets of the municipality. The organisation recommends arriving early to enjoy all the scheduled activities.
