The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has launched the largest municipal summer programme in its history, with nearly 9,000 places in sports, educational, and leisure activities for all ages.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife becomes a hub of activity this summer. The City Council has rolled out an unprecedented programme that reaches 9,000 places, spread across sports, educational, social, and leisure initiatives for all audiences. The offer, driven by various municipal areas, extends throughout July, August, and September, with proposals in the five districts of the city.

Sports, education, and leisure for everyone

The municipal sports campaign is the most ambitious to date, with around 2,700 places. It includes swimming, surfing, skateboarding, breakdancing, a Multi-Sport Campus, and an Inclusive Campus for minors and youth. The Councillor for Sports, Alicia Cebrián, highlighted that new modalities have been incorporated and discounts for families with fewer resources are maintained.

The Summer Schools, managed by Social Policies led by Charín González, accommodate nearly a thousand minors in activities spread across the five districts. Additionally, they offer complementary services to help families balance during the holidays.

Seniors, youth, and families: no one is left out

The Santa Cruz Vital programme aims to reach 2,500 participations from seniors, combining exercise, social interaction, culture, and intergenerational excursions. At the Maritime Park, the Manri Club consolidates its family offer with daily activities during July and August, with around 1,600 expected participations, including workshops, water games, and creativity inspired by César Manrique.

Meanwhile, Distrito Joven and the Youth Houses offer around a thousand places with workshops, sports, technology, excursions, and camps. The mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, stated that "this summer we once again demonstrate that a City Council can be present in people's daily lives even when the holidays arrive."

A city that never stops

Beyond the programmed places, the cultural agenda includes established events such as the Lavaderos Music Fest, the Habaneras Festival, concerts by the Municipal Band, the Library Network, and exhibitions in museums. The goal is to keep the city active for residents and visitors, energising public spaces. Bermúdez emphasised that "this growth is not a result of chance, but rather a way of understanding municipal management."

For the residents of Santa Cruz, this means they have access to a varied and quality offer without leaving the city. Registrations are already open in the various municipal areas, and it is recommended to check the City Council's website for deadlines and requirements for each programme.
