The Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is requesting nine and six years in prison for two men accused of sexually assaulting a minor during a private party in a cave house. The trial will be held on July 15 at the Provincial Court.
The Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has filed charges against two men for sexually assaulting a minor during a party in a cave-type dwelling on the island. For the first accused, the owner of the property, nine years in prison is requested; for the second, six years.
The events took place in a cave house, owned by one of the accused, where a private party was held. The victim, a minor, attended the event along with other guests. At the end of the celebration, several young people prepared to sleep in the house.
The victim, in a state of drowsiness due to alcohol
According to the Prosecutor's account, the minor moved to another room due to lack of space. There, the first accused invited her to sit and drink. Taking advantage of her drowsiness from alcohol consumption, he sexually assaulted her with lewd intent.
The victim managed to escape and take refuge in another room. Shortly after, the second accused entered the room and asked her to accompany him to the bathroom, where he also sexually assaulted her. The minor eventually managed to leave the house and report the events with her mother's help.
Psychological aftermath and request for compensation
The complaint, filed by the mother of the minor, has led to a criminal process. According to the indictment, the victim currently suffers from post-traumatic stress, low self-esteem, insecurity, symptoms of depression and anxiety, as well as somatic complaints.
For the first accused, the Prosecutor requests nine years in prison, eight years of supervised release and 18,000 euros in compensation for moral damages. For the second, six years in prison, five years of supervised release and 10,000 euros in compensation are requested.
The trial is scheduled for July 15 at 9:30 AM in Section II of the Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The date marks a first step towards accountability for the accused, while the victim and her family await justice.
This case has shocked the community of Tenerife, where sexual assaults on minors generate particular social alarm. Child protection organizations have reminded the importance of reporting any abuse and providing psychological support to victims.
