The Local Police in Guía has opened a sanction file against a resident of the midlands for abandoning rubbish in public spaces, violating the schedule for the free collection service.
The Town Hall of Guía, through its Local Police, has initiated a sanction file against a resident of the midlands for depositing rubbish and items in public spaces outside the established days for the municipal free collection service. The fine will be calculated according to the Regulatory Ordinance on the Cleaning of Public Spaces and Management of Urban Solid Waste.
The councillor for Urban Waste, Juan Jiménez, has been unequivocal in condemning these uncivic behaviours. "We will not tolerate that the irresponsible behaviour of a few harms the care and image of the municipality," warned the councillor, who reminded that "these types of infractions will have consequences and municipal regulations will be applied firmly."
Jiménez emphasised the effort made by the council to keep the municipality clean. "It is important that our residents know that a huge economic and human effort is being made to keep every corner of Guía clean and cared for, allocating resources and providing free services so that citizens can dispose of their items at no cost," he explained.
However, he lamented that actions like the sanctioned one "undermine all the daily work of the municipal cleaning services and severely harm our residents, unnecessarily deteriorating the environment for everyone."
Free rubbish collection service
The Town Hall of Guía has a service for collecting rubbish and household items by zones, with a fixed monthly schedule. Additionally, it offers a special home service, also free of charge, for which residents only need to call the phone number 636 827 629, from 06:00 to 12:00 hours, where they will be informed of the collection day corresponding to their area.
The collection of items takes place from the first Thursday of each month. Residents must deposit the rubbish next to the waste containers on Wednesday nights, with six in the morning on Thursday as the deadline.
Collection schedule by zones
The first Thursday of each month, collection occurs in the areas from the Cruce de Casas de Aguilar with Montaña Alta upwards, including Piedra Molino, El Palmital, Casas de Aguilar, Barranquillo Frío, Santa Cristina, and Farailaga. The second Thursday, from the Cruce de Casas de Aguilar with Montaña Alta to the Albercón de la Virgen, including La Dehesa, San Juan, El Gallego, Cuesta Caraballo, Ingenio Blanco, San Blas, and Los Sauces.
The third Thursday of each month is for Guía, Anzo, Montaña de Guía, Las Boticarias, and San Felipe. The fourth Thursday, for La Atalaya, Becerril, Urbanización Pineda, Llanos de Parra, and Caleta.
The councillor made a call for civic responsibility: "Keeping our neighbourhood, our city clean is a task for everyone and requires a collective commitment from all citizens. Without that civic awareness, we cannot progress."
The sanction file opened against the resident of the midlands is an example that the Town Hall of Guía applies municipal regulations firmly to preserve the cleanliness and care of the municipality. Residents who need to dispose of rubbish can contact the free service to avoid penalties.
