The Minister of Tourism and Employment, Jéssica de León, and the Deputy Minister Isabel León supported the opening of B Travel Tacoronte, managed by Trampolín Solidario. It is the first agency in the Archipelago that integrates people at risk of social exclusion as active participants in the tourism service.

The Tenerife town of Tacoronte now has the first travel agency in the Archipelago managed by a social integration company. B Travel Tacoronte, under the management of the social entity Trampolín Solidario and in collaboration with the Ávoris Group franchise, opens its doors with a pioneering model that integrates vulnerable individuals within the tourism business itself.

The Minister of Tourism and Employment of the Canary Islands Government, Jéssica de León, and the Deputy Minister of Employment, Isabel León, attended the opening event to show their support for an initiative that, as they highlighted, combines two fundamental pillars: boosting tourism and generating inclusive employment.

De León stated that this agency represents “the union of the two responsibilities” assumed by the regional government and valued that “a social integration company has launched a travel agency that offers a service with total normality and generates a social impact, because every purchase contributes to the training and qualification of people facing vulnerable situations.”

The minister explained that clients of B Travel Tacoronte will be attended by professionals who are developing a training and work itinerary aimed at facilitating their integration into the job market. “When they buy here, they will do so with purpose, because they will be contributing to a more inclusive and committed tourism model,” she added.

The mayor of Tacoronte, Sandra Izquierdo, described the initiative as “unprecedented and brave for social integration in the Canary Islands” and emphasized that “it confirms the viability of projects that combine tourism, social inclusion, and the creation of opportunities for people in complex situations.” Izquierdo was accompanied by the second deputy mayor, José Caro, the councilor for Commerce, Magdalena Ávila, and the councilor for Employment and Local Development, Eduardo Dávila.

The director of Trampolín Solidario, Lupe Martín, thanked for the support received and stressed that “today we are not just inaugurating a travel agency. We are demonstrating that social integration companies can innovate, diversify, and compete in any economic sector. We want tourism, in addition to being an economic engine for the Canary Islands, to also be an engine of opportunities for people.”

This model represents an advancement compared to the usual collaboration of social integration companies with the tourism sector, which until now was limited to auxiliary services such as cleaning, laundry, or maintenance. In this case, individuals in the integration process are trained and develop their professional activity directly in a publicly accessible travel agency.

The opening of B Travel Tacoronte is part of a broader strategy by the Ministry of Tourism and Employment to promote the social economy in the Islands. Among the measures already developed are the creation of the Social Economy Commission of the Canary Islands, the publication of the First White Paper on Social Economy and the Catalogue of Entities, the celebration of the First Social Economy Forum, the approval of the first Social Economy Strategy, and the launch of the first University Expert in Social Economy, taught by the University of La Laguna.

These actions have contributed to the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy designating the Canary Islands as the Spanish Capital of Social Economy in 2027, a recognition that will be shared by Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. De León emphasized the need to “create an increasingly people-centered business fabric, because it results in training, personalized itineraries, and supporting those in vulnerable situations so they can develop their personal and professional lives with autonomy.”

The event was attended by representatives from other social integration companies in the Islands, such as Davia, Isonorte Empleo, Aldeaslab, Rayuela, Meraki, and Activando Sueños, evidencing the sector's interest in such initiatives.

The B Travel Tacoronte agency is already operational and offers conventional tourist services, with the particularity that each purchase contributes to the training of individuals at risk of exclusion. With this project, Tacoronte positions itself at the forefront of a more social and inclusive tourism in the Canary Islands.
