The Citizen Attention Department has announced the new dates for the National Police's mobile unit in Guía. The service will be available on September 23 and 25, October 7 and 21, and November 4 and 18.
Residents of Guía will be able to renew their ID or process their passport without leaving the municipality this autumn. The Citizen Attention Department, led by Alejandro Rivero, has confirmed that the National Police's mobile unit will be set up on six days spread across September, October, and November.
The service will be provided on September 23 and 25, October 7 and 21, and November 4 and 18. The unit will be located, as usual, in front of the Municipal Citizen Attention Office, next to the Civil Guard barracks.
To be attended, it is necessary to request an appointment in advance. The phone number to call is 928 89 65 55 (extension 0616), and the hours for making an appointment are from 9:00 to 12:00.
The required documentation varies depending on the procedure. For ID renewal, the previous document is needed, a recent colour photo with a white background, and a fee of 12 euros, which can be paid in cash (exact amount) or by card. Holders of large family cards are exempt from payment and must present the valid card with a barcode or QR code.
If there has been a change of address, a registration certificate from the Town Hall must be provided, which expires after three months. In the case of minors under 14 years old, they must be accompanied by one of their parents. If the minor is under the guardianship of the Government of the Canary Islands, authorization from them is required.
For passport issuance, the ID must be valid and in perfect condition. Additionally, the previous passport must be presented if available, a recent photo (although this is not necessary if the ID photo is less than two years old and there have been no significant physical changes), and a payment of 30 euros in cash (exact amount). Members of large families are also exempt from the fee.
In case of loss, theft, or damage to the ID, the corresponding report must be presented along with the previous document if it exists. If the ID is expired or has less than 90 days until expiration, a recent photo is needed. For a lost or damaged passport, in addition to the report, the previous passport is required in case of damage.
Minors under 18 who wish to obtain a passport must come with both parents, who will provide their valid personal documentation and the family book. The National Police's mobile unit thus offers a close service that prevents residents of Guía from having to travel to other locations to carry out these procedures.
The Town Hall of Guía recommends that interested parties request their appointment in advance, as spaces are limited. The planned dates cover the entire autumn quarter, with two days per month, allowing a wide window for residents to organise themselves.
The mobile unit returns after its previous visits to the municipality, consolidating itself as a regular resource that brings administration closer to the public. The department reminds everyone that it is important to bring all documentation in order to avoid delays.
