The Unión Carrizal Football Club has presented the programme of events for its 75th anniversary, which includes round tables and sports tournaments.
The Plenary Hall of the Ingenio Town Hall hosted the official presentation of the commemorative programme for the 75th anniversary of the Unión Carrizal Football Club this Tuesday, a milestone that will highlight the history of one of the most established and historic sports clubs in the municipality.
Attending the event were the Mayor of Ingenio and Councillor for Sports, Vanesa Martín; the club president, Mario Ramírez; the secretary of the entity, Noelia Monreal; board member Pedro Galván, as well as members of the organising committee for the 75th anniversary.
During her speech, the mayor highlighted that Unión Carrizal represents an example of unity and commitment for new generations, becoming a reference for many boys and girls in the municipality. She also invited the public to participate in the various events scheduled to celebrate this important milestone.
For his part, the club president, Mario Ramírez, stated that the 75th anniversary signifies the celebration of a living history, looking proudly at the past while not losing sight of the hopeful future of the entity.
Among the planned activities, the round table discussion "Football in Southeast Gran Canaria" will take place on Tuesday, August 11, as well as the round table "History of Unión Carrizal" and the institutional event, scheduled for Wednesday, August 12 at 20:00. All these events will be held at the old Unión Carrizal football field, next to Avenida Carlos V.
Ramírez also highlighted the celebration of two established sports events in the municipality's football calendar: the 53rd Juan Guedes Tournament and the 21st Pancho Ramírez Tournament, which will be held at the Manuel Jiménez Rosales field in El Toril. Additionally, he thanked the support of the Ingenio Town Hall and the work of the organising committee for their commitment and involvement in making this commemoration possible.
The club board member, Pedro Galván, emphasised the historical importance of this milestone, stressing that the social and cultural heritage of the municipalities in southeast Gran Canaria is closely linked to the sport of football and to entities like Unión Carrizal.
The presentation concluded with a family photograph alongside the commemorative banner for the 75th anniversary, a symbol of the loyalty and roots of a club that, for three-quarters of a century, has contributed to the sporting, social, and economic growth of Carrizal.
