San Ginés Obispo parish, in Arrecife, has opened registrations for the second edition of the Effetá Retreat, a faith experience for young people aged 18 to 30 that will take place from October 16 to 18 at the Nazareth Spirituality House.
The San Ginés Obispo parish has launched the second edition of the Effetá Retreat, an event returning to Lanzarote to offer young people a space to encounter Christ. The activity, aimed at individuals aged between 18 and 30, will take place from Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 18 at the Nazareth Spirituality House in Arrecife.
A Weekend for Reflection and Fellowship
Effetá, which in Aramaic means "open up", proposes an intensive programme of prayer, testimony and fellowship. Over three days, participants will be able to pause their routine, listen to God, and discover His presence in everyday life. The experience will culminate on Sunday with a closing Eucharist at 19:30 in the church of San Ginés.
The retreat will begin on Friday, October 16 at 18:00. Places are limited, so the organisation warns that filling out the registration form does not guarantee participation. Those selected will receive an email with confirmation and instructions to formalise payment, which amounts to 110 euros.
Registrations Open Until September
The deadline to apply for a place will remain open until September 12. Interested individuals can obtain more information or resolve queries by writing to effetasangines@gmail.com or contacting the organising team directly from the San Ginés parish.
The parish community highlights that this initiative aims to provide young people with spaces to deepen their faith, strengthen their relationship with God, and share a journey with other young people who live the Gospel with joy and authenticity. The first edition, held last year, left a good impression among attendees, who valued the opportunity to disconnect and connect with what is essential.
For young people in Lanzarote seeking a different experience, this retreat can be an opportunity for personal and communal encounter. The Nazareth Spirituality House, in a tranquil setting, will welcome participants throughout the weekend.
San Ginés parish, located in the heart of Arrecife, continues its commitment to youth ministry, offering resources for young people to live their faith actively. The Effetá retreat adds to other activities that the community develops throughout the year, such as youth groups, catechesis, and volunteering.
Those interested should keep in mind that places are limited and that selection will take place after the registration deadline. Therefore, the organisation recommends not delaying the application. For any questions, the organising team is available via the provided email.
In short, the II Effetá Retreat presents itself as an unmissable event for young people on the island who wish to take a pause in their daily lives and open themselves to a shared faith experience. The combination of prayer, testimonies, and fellowship promises an intense and transformative weekend.
