The Basque actor and model Jon Kortajarena has made his residence in Caleta de Famara, a small fishing village in Lanzarote. There he has built Casa Sua, a home integrated into the volcanic landscape of the island.

The 41-year-old actor and model Jon Kortajarena has found in Caleta de Famara, a village of just a thousand inhabitants in the north of Lanzarote, the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle. There he has built his home, a villa called Casa Sua that reflects his connection to the island.

Kortajarena, who could live in any capital city in the world thanks to his international career, has preferred this coastal enclave where the volcanic landscape and the ocean set the daily rhythm. According to sources close to the actor, his bond with Lanzarote goes back a long way, after years of visits that turned the island into something more than just a holiday destination.

Caleta de Famara, the village that captivates

Caleta de Famara retains the essence of the ancient Canarian fishing villages. Its quiet streets and atmosphere away from the major tourist areas make it a place with its own personality. There is no rush, just walks by the sea, local cuisine, and water sports.

Famara beach, a vast stretch of sand at the foot of the Risco de Famara, is one of the most impressive landscapes on the island. Its kilometres of white sand and majestic waves attract surfers and those looking to walk by the ocean. From there, one can see the contrast between volcanic mountains, sand, and open sea.

For the locals, the arrival of a figure like Kortajarena has not disturbed the tranquility of the place. "He has always been very discreet, you see him walking or at the beach, but without drawing attention," comments a regular resident of the village.

Casa Sua, the dream home

The villa that Kortajarena has built in Caleta de Famara, named Casa Sua, is a space designed to enjoy the surroundings. The home is integrated into the volcanic landscape and is designed to maintain a constant connection with nature.

The property reflects the way the actor understands Lanzarote: calm, simplicity, and respect for the natural environment. "It is not an ostentatious house, but functional and open to the outside," say consulted real estate sources. The construction has respected the traditional Canarian aesthetic, with local materials and colours that blend with the terrain.

Kortajarena's refuge adds to the list of celebrities who have chosen the Canary Islands as a second home, but with one difference: the actor is not seeking flashy luxury, but the authenticity of a village that still retains its maritime essence.

For tourists visiting Famara, the presence of the model is an added attraction, although the true draw remains the landscape. "People come for the waves and the views, not for the celebrities," jokes a local hotelier. And indeed, in Famara, the spotlight is on the Risco.
