The Granadilla de Abona Town Council, through the Youth Department, has launched a new edition of the 'Granadilla T-MUEVE' programme with water activities, astronomy, and parks for young people aged 12 to 30.

The municipal programme 'Granadilla T-MUEVE' returns this summer to offer the youth of the municipality healthy and participatory leisure alternatives. The initiative, driven by the Youth Department led by Raquel Morales Izquierdo, will take place during the months of July, August, and September, with limited places and activities that combine sport, nature, and fun.

Young people registered in Granadilla de Abona aged between 12 and 30 can sign up for the various proposals through the Citizen Attention Services (SAC) or on the official Town Council website. The programme includes everything from water sports to astronomical observation, aiming to promote coexistence and respect for the environment.

Among the highlighted activities are two trips to the Siam Park water park: one at night on August 6 and another during the day on August 28. Paddle surfing sessions have also been organised in El Médano on August 7 and 21, as well as a visit to observe the Perseids on the night of August 13. From September 2 to 4, participants will enjoy three days of nautical activities such as sailing, snorkelling, and games in the sea.

As part of the same programme, a kayaking and snorkelling route in Los Gigantes was already carried out in previous days, serving as a prelude to the summer offer. Councillor Raquel Morales highlighted that “Granadilla moves you not only offers a leisure opportunity but also a space to share, build community, and promote values such as coexistence, respect for the environment, and responsible use of free time.”

Morales emphasised that “youth participation is key to a dynamic and committed society. That is why we continue to work to expand and diversify the range of activities, always focusing on the quality of services.” The programme aims to provide attractive alternatives for young people during the holidays, avoiding sedentary lifestyles and promoting healthy habits.

Registrations are already open, and the Town Council recommends completing the procedures in advance due to the limited number of places. For more information, interested parties can contact via email at juventud@granadilladeabona.org or call the Youth Department at 922 75 99 59.

The 'Granadilla T-MUEVE' programme is consolidating itself as a summer event for the youth of the municipality, who year after year see the leisure offer expanded. The combination of water activities, outdoor sports, and nighttime events such as stargazing aims to attract a diverse audience, from the youngest to those over 30.

The Youth Department has worked on planning these activities taking into account the preferences expressed by the young people themselves in previous editions. The kayaking route in Los Gigantes, already completed, served as a pilot test and received a great response, which has motivated the repetition of similar experiences.

The Granadilla de Abona Town Council thus bets on youth leisure that not only entertains but also educates in values such as sustainability and environmental care. Nautical activities, for example, take place in protected natural spaces, and participants are taught the importance of respecting the marine ecosystem.

For young people interested in astronomy, the Perseids night on August 13 will be a unique opportunity to enjoy a meteor shower in a privileged setting, away from light pollution. This activity adds to the already traditional trips to Siam Park, which combine fun and refreshment in the hottest months.

With this initiative, Granadilla de Abona positions itself as a municipality committed to the well-being of its youth, offering leisure alternatives that promote active participation and community building. The Youth Department will continue to inform through its official channels about possible new activities to be added to the programme.
