The Villa of La Orotava now has a new business association, 'Impulsa La Orotava', which aims to represent and enhance the interests of the local business community.
The noble hall of the La Orotava Town Hall hosted the official presentation of 'Impulsa La Orotava' on Thursday, a new business association that seeks to bring together traders and entrepreneurs from the municipality. The event was attended by the mayor, Francisco Linares; the councillor for Commerce, Deisy Ramos; and the president of the entity, Vicente Santos Luis, who leads a board made up of professionals from the sector.
As Santos Luis explained, the association was established to represent the interests of the business community, promote cooperation among businesses, and encourage joint initiatives that contribute to the dynamism of the local economy. 'Impulsa La Orotava' aspires to become a close and constructive interlocutor with public administrations, facilitating smooth communication and active participation from the sector in decisions affecting the development of the municipality.
The entity has designed an action plan structured by quarters. Following its official establishment and the launch of its corporate image, immediate efforts will focus on attracting members and holding the first business day. By the end of 2026, the roadmap includes collaboration on local commercial campaigns and business activation actions, culminating in the design of a strategic plan for the next financial year.
Among the services it will offer to its members are active promotion through digital platforms, a digital space for associated businesses, and training resources aimed at improving competitiveness. The corporate image of the association pays tribute to local tradition by integrating Canary Island architecture into its visual concept, combined with colours that reflect professionalism, sustainability, and rootedness.
The board of directors is composed of Vicente José Santos Luis as president; Alejandro Mesa, vice president; Montserrat Domínguez, secretary; Germán Domínguez, treasurer; and Javier Sprungmann Lechado as a member. The team will work to promote an open, participatory, and approachable association, capable of channeling the concerns of entrepreneurs and fostering new avenues of collaboration among the different economic sectors of the municipality.
The values guiding the project are collaboration, transparency, commitment, closeness, and professionalism. From 'Impulsa La Orotava', it is considered essential to establish permanent dialogue channels with the La Orotava Town Hall and other administrations to work together in seeking solutions and promoting new opportunities.
The mayor, Francisco Linares, and councillor Deisy Ramos supported the initiative, highlighting the importance of having business associations as direct interlocutors with public administration. Linares emphasized that associationism is key to energising the local economy, coordinating commercial campaigns, and designing public policies aligned with the real needs of the productive fabric of the Villa.
The creation of 'Impulsa La Orotava' represents a step forward for the business community of the municipality, which seeks a single and representative voice in the face of current challenges. The association hopes to attract a significant number of members in the coming months and establish itself as the reference entity for entrepreneurs in La Orotava.
