The Town Hall of Puerto de la Cruz, in collaboration with the Cabildo of Tenerife, has opened the application period for a social tourism trip to Granada aimed at seniors from the municipality. The initiative will take place from October 10 to 15.
Senior residents of Puerto de la Cruz have had the opportunity since this Tuesday, July 28, to apply for participation in a social tourism trip to Granada. The initiative, promoted by the Social Action Area of the Town Hall and the Insular Cabildo of Tenerife, aims to encourage active ageing and social interaction among the seniors of the municipality.
The trip, which will take place from October 10 to 15, costs €233.31 per person and includes flights from Tenerife North, accommodation in a four-star hotel in Granada on a full board basis with drinks, tourist coach transport, entry to places of interest, an official guide, travel insurance, and evening entertainment.
The Mayor of Puerto de la Cruz, Leopoldo Afonso, highlighted the importance of collaboration between administrations to bring initiatives that promote well-being and active ageing closer to seniors. “This trip offers them the opportunity to discover new places and share experiences in a safe environment tailored to their needs,” he stated.
The head of the Social Action Area, Sandy Reina, explained that a complete programme has been prepared for participants to enjoy a cultural and social experience with all guarantees. She encouraged those interested to seek information and submit their applications within the deadline, with the assistance of municipal staff.

To participate, applicants must be 60 years old or turn 60 during 2026, be registered in Puerto de la Cruz with at least three years of residency before the trip starts, and not have participated in the last social tourism campaign. Additionally, they must prove annual income that does not exceed the established limits according to the family unit: €18,480 for one member, €28,560 for two or three, and €30,240 for more than three. A medical report certifying fitness to travel and the absence of mobility issues is also required.
The required documentation includes the application, ID, personal data form with photograph, latest tax return or equivalent document, pension certificate or latest payslip, registration certificate, and medical report. Technical services may request additional documentation if necessary.
