The new line 27 of Guaguas Municipales will connect Siete Palmas and the Tafira University Campus starting Sunday, August 2, due to the closure of the Guiniguada viaduct to traffic. Lines 26 and 48 will see their routes modified during the works.

Guaguas Municipales will launch line 27 on Sunday, August 2, which will connect the Siete Palmas area with the Tafira University Campus as an alternative to the closure of the Guiniguada viaduct for works. The new circular line will operate between 7:00 AM and 9:10 PM, departing from Siete Palmas.

The closure of the viaduct, which affects the northbound section between the Lomo Blanco roundabout and Siete Palmas, necessitates changes to the routes of lines 26 (Santa Catalina - University Campus) and 48 (Escaleritas - University Campus). Both will end their journey at the Pintor Felo Monzón (Hipercor) stop, where users can transfer to line 27 to reach the campus.

During the first phase of the works, scheduled for the first half of August, line 27 will access the campus via the Circumvallation and return through the Jardín Canario and the Almatriche road. Starting August 16, when work on the viaduct in the southbound direction begins, the route will be reversed: the line will go to the campus via Almatriche and the Jardín Canario, and return via the Circumvallation.

The updated schedules and itineraries for line 26 are available on the Guaguas Municipales website and mobile app, as well as at the affected stops, where a QR code has been placed to access the new information. For line 27, a specific document has been made available on the company's website.

The works on the Guiniguada viaduct, which affect one of the main accesses to the capital of Gran Canaria, aim to improve safety and mobility in the area. Private drivers will also need to seek alternative routes during the closure.

Guaguas Municipales recommends that users plan their journeys in advance and consult official channels for any last-minute changes. The company has assured that it will keep the public informed through its website and social media.
