The Town Hall of Telde, through the Department of Citizen Participation, is organising a meeting on Sunday 20th July to create the Volunteer Network 'X Love for Telde'.
Next Sunday, 20th July, at 5:00 PM, the Youth Centre of Telde will host the starting point of the Volunteer Network 'X Love for Telde', a municipal initiative aimed at channelling the solidarity of residents into social, cultural, and environmental projects. The Councillor for Citizen Participation and Volunteering, Janoa Anceaume, has presented this proposal as an opportunity for the people of Telde to actively engage in improving their municipality.
A space for citizen collaboration
The future network aims to be a permanent space for collaboration where people of all ages and backgrounds can participate in activities supporting municipal events, awareness campaigns, environmental actions, and social accompaniment programmes. The Town Hall seeks to create an organised structure that responds to the real needs of the municipality, with the citizens themselves as the protagonists in designing its operation.
During the meeting on 20th July, the project will be officially presented, but the event will have a participatory nature. Attendees will be able to share proposals, raise concerns, and contribute ideas that help define the foundations of this new network, which is born with the intention of permanence. The aim is for municipal volunteering to adapt to the specific demands of the neighbourhoods and groups in Telde.
Councillor Anceaume has emphasised that no prior experience in volunteering is required to join the initiative. “What is essential is to have enthusiasm, a desire to collaborate, and the wish to contribute to the well-being of Telde,” she stated. The network aspires to become a meeting point for people committed to their surroundings, fostering values such as solidarity, cooperation, and active participation.
A commitment to social cohesion
The 'X Love for Telde' project is born with the aim of strengthening the community fabric and highlighting the role of volunteering as an agent of social transformation. The Department of Citizen Participation believes that the creation of this network will promote collaboration between the administration, associations, and citizens, facilitating the organisation of initiatives that respond to the social needs of the municipality.
The initiative also seeks to consolidate a culture of volunteering based on co-responsibility and a sense of belonging to Telde. The Town Hall wants residents to be protagonists in building a more participative, inclusive, and cohesive city. To achieve this, the model of the network will be designed jointly with the citizens, in an open and flexible process.
“Volunteering is one of the most valuable expressions of commitment to society. We want to create a network formed by people eager to participate, share, and contribute, because a city is also built from the solidarity and involvement of those who are part of it,” Anceaume highlighted.
