The Tenerife event, with international and regional labels, delivered documentation to participants at Worten. The competition begins on Friday, observed by the RFEDA for a possible promotion to the CERA.
More than 120 teams collected their documentation on Thursday for the 12th Rally Ciudad de La Laguna – Worten Trophy, taking place this weekend in northern Tenerife. The event, organised by Sport Eventos Tenerife, starts with an eye on the International Iberian Rallye Trophy and the regional championship, but also on the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation, which is observing the event to assess its promotion to the Spanish Asphalt Rally Championship (CERA).
Documentation delivery at Worten
The facilities of Worten in La Laguna were the venue for the documentation collection, where participants received their numbers, mandatory advertising, the official magazine, and promotional details. The event, held between 17:30 and 19:30, went smoothly, although three teams did not show up: Raimon Martínez – Rúsbel Pérez (Talbot Sunbeam Lotus nº 32), José Alexis Molina – María C. Molina (Peugeot 208 nº 34), and Leocadio Hernández – Luis Hernández (Sunbeam Avenger GT nº 216).
The organisation reminds fans to follow safety guidelines and care for the environment. The first special stage, ‘El Boquerón – Valle de Guerra’ (7.67 km), will start at 21:30, followed by ‘Tejina – El Socorro’ (4.7 km) at 22:00. Traffic will be cut off an hour and fifteen minutes before the first special and an hour before the others.
Technical checks and press conference
On Friday, starting at 14:00, Parking Las Quinteras will host the technical checks. At 19:15, there will be a press conference with the main protagonists, followed by a group photo and a signing session for fans. At 20:25, the teams will head to the first service of the route.
The rally is supported by the City Council of La Laguna, the Cabildo of Tenerife, the Government of the Canary Islands, and several sponsors, including Worten, Archiauto, and Hotel Laguna Nivaria. The organisation hopes the event will demonstrate its capacity to host the CERA, which would represent a leap in quality for motorsport in Tenerife.
