The Russian pair, with their Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, leads by five tenths over Enrique Cruz and Yeray Mujica after the first two night stages of the 12 La Laguna City Rally – Worten Trophy.

Alexey Lukyanuk and Yury Kulikov, aboard their Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, have positioned themselves at the front of the 12 La Laguna City Rally – Worten Trophy after the first two stages, both held on the night of Friday, July 17. The Russian-origin pair, two-time European champions, set the best time in the second special stage and have a lead of five tenths over their immediate pursuers.

Enrique Cruz and Yeray Mujica, First Leaders

The Tenerife duo Enrique Cruz and Yeray Mujica, with their Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, were the fastest in the first stage, debuting as leaders of the event. However, in the second special stage, they ceded the top spot to Lukyanuk's push. The difference is minimal, so the battle for victory promises to be thrilling on Saturday.

The provisional podium is completed by the crew formed by Sergio Fuentes and Teco Hernández, also with a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, 13.1 seconds behind the leader. Behind them, Yeray Lemes and Aitor Cambeiro (Citroën C3 Rally2) are lurking just 2.1 seconds away, in a fight that will be key for the Canary Islands Asphalt Rally Championship (CCRA).

Alpine Class and Dominance in Lower Categories

In fifth place is Jorge Rodríguez, accompanied by Taydía Santana, with a spectacular Alpine A110 that has surpassed the Suzuki Swift Rally2-Kit of Óscar Dóniz and Rayco Hernández. Just 1.4 seconds behind them are Manuel Mesa and Dailos González (Ford Fiesta R5 MKII). The Top 10 is rounded out by Cristian del Castillo – Juan del Castillo (Citroën C3 N5), Víctor Delgado – Ignacio Eguren (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X) – first in the TCRA section – and Rayco Tejera – Gabriel Álvarez (BMW M3 E46).

In Category 2, the Peugeot 208 Rally4 of Alexis Martín and Pedro Viera dominates with a 2.1-second lead over Erik Guerra – Claudia Lemes (Renault Clio Rally4) and 4.9 over José de León – Néstor Gómez (Ford Fiesta Rally4). In the Clio Trophy Canarias and Category 3, Walter Delgado and Alejandro Rodríguez lead with a 2.6-second advantage over Kevin Kipar and David Cristo. The 1.6 Cup has as leaders Félix David Alonso – Iriome González (Citroën Saxo VTS) in Group 1, and Fabián Concepción – Ayran Cámara (Citroën AX GTI) in Group 2.

A Decisive Saturday with Six Stages

Action will resume on Saturday, July 18, with six timed stages: Villa de Tegueste (10.2 km, at 9:00 and 12:50), Valle de Guerra (14.93 km, at 9:35 and 13:25), Tacoronte – El Rosario (8.4 km, at 10:25 and 15:55) and Candelaria (8.37 km, at 16:45). The trophy presentation will take place at 19:00 hours in the Las Quinteras Parking, concluding this edition organized by Sport Eventos Tenerife.

The rally is supported by the La Laguna City Council, the Tenerife Cabildo, and the Canary Islands Government, among other institutions. For fans, this event is an opportunity to see some of the best drivers in the regional and international scene in action, with the added excitement that will last until the final metre.
