The General Directorate of Blood Donation and Hemotherapy of the SCS has installed a mobile unit in La Cuesta, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, to facilitate blood donation. It will be operational until tomorrow Tuesday during morning and afternoon hours.
The Canary Health Service has launched a mobile blood donation unit today in the La Cuesta neighbourhood, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The extraction point will remain active until tomorrow Tuesday, as reported by the General Directorate of Blood Donation and Hemotherapy.
The unit is located at the La Cuesta Post Office and will serve donors from 10:00 to 14:00 in the morning and from 16:45 to 20:45 in the afternoon. The aim is to bring donation closer to local residents and facilitate citizen collaboration.
The SCS reminds that blood cannot be artificially manufactured and that each donation can save or improve the lives of several people. Transfusions are necessary in surgical interventions, oncological treatments, emergencies, and other critical situations.
In addition to this specific campaign, residents in Tenerife can visit fixed donation points scattered across the island. In the capital, the fixed point at Méndez Núñez is open Monday to Friday from 9:15 to 20:15, except on holidays.

To donate blood, certain basic requirements must be met: be between 18 and 65 years old (up to 60 for the first donation), weigh more than 50 kilos, be in good general health, and not be pregnant. For any questions, you can call the free phone number 900 234 061 or visit the website efectodonacion.com.
