The Teatro Auditorio and the Teatro Cruce de Culturas in Agüimes will host around twenty stage and musical proposals for all audiences from September 2026 to January 2027.
The cultural programme of Agüimes for the coming months was presented this Tuesday, featuring an offer that combines major productions, Canary and national companies, family theatre, concerts, and established events such as the Festival del Sur. In total, there will be around twenty shows taking place at the Teatro Auditorio and the Teatro Cruce de Culturas from September 2026 to January 2027.
The season will kick off in September with 'César Manrique, the musical', a production that will bring together nearly a hundred artists to revive the figure of the Lanzarote artist. The same month will see the premiere of 'La Reata de los doce camellos: el motín de Agüimes de 1708', a community theatre piece that recovers a historical episode of the town through music and drama.
Humour will play a significant role in the programme. The live recording of En Otra Clave, the most-watched programme on Televisión Canaria, will return in October and January with its television theatre format and live music. Also notable is 'Graciela Conchalovsky', a comedy of monologues full of irony, and 'Grito', the return of Hovik Keuchkerian to stand-up with a show of acid humour and social reflection.
The dramatic offerings include titles such as 'Poncia', inspired by the universe of 'La casa de Bernarda Alba' by Federico García Lorca, the dramedy 'Panza de Burro', the tragicomedy 'Cartas: el grito (casi) amordazado de una generación', and the dramatized reading 'Hagamos un trato', featuring Petra Martínez.
Families will enjoy the premiere of 'Blancanieves, más allá del espejo', a new version of the classic children's tale. Music will be present with proposals such as Flamenco Jazz Fusion, Agüimes en Cinco Cuerdas, and the traditional Christmas concert by Los Gofiones.
From October 18 to 25, a new edition of the Festival del Sur – Encuentro Teatral Tres Continentes will take place, the oldest performing arts festival in the Canary Islands, featuring dozens of theatre, dance, clown, and concert performances. In November, the M.A.R. – Mujeres Africanas Rodando film festival will take place, reinforcing the international and multidisciplinary character of the programme.
Tickets can be purchased through the platform tureservaonline.es, at the theatres' box offices, and at the cultural centres in the municipality. Additionally, several shows will offer a free childcare service to facilitate attendance for families with children.
